Sun's Gate (3B) is a 9-length multi-pitch route from the 70's rebolted 50 years later by our volunteers. The route is rebolted classically, starting from the bottom and finishing at the top with the safest gear available at the time.

The 9 pitches are as follows:

• L1 - 30m - 5+ (vertical & left)
• L2 - 25m - 6- (chimney)
• L3 - 45m - 3 (Sun's Gate meadow)
• L4 - 25m - 5+ (vertical)
• L5 - 35m - 4+ (traverse LT1)
• L6 - 50m - 4+ (traverseu LT2)
• L7 - 50m - 4- (traverseu LT3)
• L8 - 40m - 4- (traverseu LT4)
• L9 - 40m - 5 (vertical)

Total: 340 meters

The route is long, and it will take about 5 to 6 hours of climbing, depending on your ability and your hurry to reach the top.

We recommend that you climb without a backpack because of the chimney situated on the 2nd pitch.

This part of the route can be done with the lead and second climbing at the same time if both have a very good technique and experience together.

The rebolting started in 2023, and it was finalised in 2026. Three years of hard work, hundreds of hours of volunteering from our club members, and in the end, a beauty of a 9-length multi-pitch beast.

Initially, the route was supposed to have only 5 lengths. But as we were looking for the perfect line to continue after the 4th length, we had to make a hard decision and turn left for a traverse that proved to be much longer than expected (almost 200m - 4 pitches).

We were after one week of climbing and bolting that traverse, and only on the 7th day, we saw the end and the starting point of the last pitch. 

The club is self-financed by guiding groups on via ferrata routes, trekking, climbing, mountaineering, and equipment rental, working exclusively with volunteers and athletes of the organization.

All funds raised go towards the development, redevelopment, and maintenance of climbing, escalade, or via ferrata routes in the Vadu Crișului - Șuncuiuș area.
