A short & easy via ferrata route for children & beginners on their first experience of this kind

The route is a very short one, with a maximum length of 100m if we also calculate the branch for the intermediate belvedere point. The difference in level is somewhere around 35m-40m from the start.

The travel time varies somewhere between 10 minutes and 15 minutes depending on physical training, skill, and the size of the group.

The beauty of the route lies in the grotto it passes through and in an intermediate belvedere ridge without too many spectacular claims, but beautiful as anything in nature is.

The financing was done from public funds at the time and the execution was carried out by a private company paid for the works with supervision from Salvamont. The route was inaugurated on June 10, 2023.

Our club has traveled this route and compared to the declared grade B quotation, according to our experience in the field (multiple similar routes, traveled and equipped) the quotation is exaggerated, the grade being grade A, possibly A+ for 1 or maximum 2 sections of approximately 1 meter that are more exposed.

That is precisely why we recommend this route to people new to this kind of experience, especially children. The steps are persistent, sometimes even 15cm from each other, which can be an obstacle for adults. For very young children this could be an advantage.

Access is on the communal road from Căbești to the limestone quarry.

The withdrawal from the route is done on the tourist trail marked with a yellow circle. The retreat is very short and quite steep, in 5 minutes you reach back to the forest road that leaves from the clearing where Căbești Fest is held.
