One hard via ferrata with multiple overhanging sections and few artificial holds
The route contains exposed and overhanging sections, with many natural holds and very few artificial steps, with some technical climbing sections, interspersed with a stretched traverse and an indian balance bridge. The route requires experience with via ferratas and even rock climbing knowledge. Artificial holds are rare, quite far apart, and placed only in overhanging areas or sections completely lacking natural holds).
Those who enter the route must have suitable mountain shoes with grippy soles and be prepared for demanding situations both physically and mentally (overhangs at a high height, suspended on the metal wires of the bridge, sections with very few steps).
In the first part, the route covers a clear ridge (the former Creasta Șută climbing route). The entrance is a small overhang, a few steps away, followed by an area without holds. The hard entrance is intended to weed out those unprepared for such a route.
There are some thresholds with good holds (without steps) that do not lead to a comfortable threshold (it is possible to notice 1 or 2 old pitons). From here, the ridge becomes slightly overhanging, and serious problems appear, which we overcome with steps that are quite far apart. Take great care when moving belays over anchors. The moves are hard. In the end, the ridge loses its difficulty and leads ascending left to a clear and comfortable ridge (Brâna Aeriana).
From the lower left comes the line of another route (Pendulum) which intersects our route in a small saddle on the ridge and goes to the right slightly ascending over the ridge. We go uphill to the left, on a comfortable fringe that we pass without problems (ideal place for photos), crossing far to the left (about 40 m). At the end of the fringe, it narrows under an overhanging wall that does not throw a little over the precipice.
Here we pass on a small platform from where the Indian bridge goes to the left over the ravine from the Rattlesnake route.
The Indian bridge has four distinct wires: one for the legs, two for the two hands, and one above, on which the 2 belays are placed. Careful! On this portion, the amortization gear is taken out of use by adding on the life line the rest loop. The Indian bridge takes us 20 meters above the aerial roller coaster, to the opposite wall, above a ceiling, almost on the ridge. After crossing the bridge, only the 2 carabiners on the shock absorber are still used.
We leave the bridge on the left, on an area without holds and slightly overhanging, on some fairly distant steps. From the bridge, you can see the Hammock's Cave route to the left. The two routes will end in the same place. After overcoming with the help of a few steps quite far from the more difficult overhanging area, we continue on natural outlets to the top where the route ends offering a beautiful panorama.
The routes built by the CASSIO Montana club, a non-profit organization, were based on donations and volunteering. To support the development of other routes and the maintenance of the existing ones, you can donate any amount.
Equipment: Mandatory helmet, harness and special lanyard for via ferrata, provided with a shock absorption mechanism plus 2 special carabiners for via ferrata, with which we do not permanently secure the metal surface of the route. Optional, gloves.
Withdrawal: Withdrawal from the route is done on the path in the forest, and in 10-15 minutes from the exit from the route you reach back to the parking lot.
